Most architectural projects need estimating at some point. With some clients there can even be a contractual obligation to meet a project budget. Perhaps you rely on your past experience and do cost estimates in house, or perhaps you rely on feedback from a construction manager. In this market, keeping to the budget and getting value for money is attractive to most owners. Design firms that are able to demonstrate good fiscal control are often successful in getting and keeping clients.
Using an independent estimating consultant can be very cost effective, allows you as designer to keep control over cost-driven decisions, and avoids handing over the project at an early stage to a construction manager who has their own agenda. It is a fact that making wise cost decisions early in the design process, and getting an adequate fee to produce good construction documents, can save the owner ten percent or more over having a pre-appointed CM who is solely responsible for costing the job.

Construction Cost Management is an independent consultant whose only concern is to provide timely, accurate pre-construction estimates. We work with the design team having the owners' concern with value for money always in mind. In most cases our modest fee will be less than the amount that can be saved on construction by using our services. We have been in business for 13 years and the principal has over 25 years' experience. We are expert at producing rapid estimates at a very preliminary stage of the design, at a point where construction managers who rely on subcontractors for input cannot produce reliable results.
We have wide experience of most building types, and work on mainly institutional and commercial projects. We have particular expertise in educational buildings, both K thru 12 and college.

If you are working on a Green or LEED certifiable project, we would be especially interested in working with you. We have many years' experience in this field and a commitment to sustainable design. We are not only qualified in LEED but active in the Green Building scene. We can understand the importance of green strategies and estimate the costs and payoffs of alternate choices.
